A Custom Lakefront Family Home

The Brief 

The homeowners wanted a home built for entertaining and for family life to spread out — a great room made for gathering, a private owner’s wing set apart from the rest of the house, and enough dedicated space upstairs for hobbies, exercise, and guests rather than everyone sharing the same few rooms. A pool and a separate sauna structure rounded out a property built for warm-weather living on the water. 

The Challenge 

This wasn’t one building — it was three: the main residence, a pool, and a detached sauna structure with its own foundation, roof, and privacy fencing, all needing to read as one cohesive property rather than separate projects bolted together. Add a building envelope engineered to documented, code-exceeding RSI values across every wall, floor, and ceiling assembly, and a roofline with multiple pitches and planes, and the coordination load on this build ran well above a typical single-family home. 

What We Built 

A two-storey custom home with an open great room, kitchen, and dining space on the main floor, a private owner’s suite with ensuite and walk-in closet, and covered patios front and back. Upstairs holds several bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet, plus a study, a recreation room, a crafts room, and a dedicated exercise room. Outside, a pool and a separate sauna structure extend the living space toward the water, all served by a double garage and a single garage. 

The Result 

The finished property delivers exactly what it was designed for: a home built to entertain, a pool and sauna structure for warm-weather days on the lake, and enough separation between the owner’s suite and the rest of the house that family life doesn’t feel like it’s on top of itself. Designed by Oasis Design, the home was permitted in 2021 and completed in 2023.
